Lilleshall Hall Golf Club in Newport Shropshire are holding a unique Ryder Cup Golf Competition on 22nd/23rd September that echoes the real event being played this year at Le Golf National, Paris in France.

The golf tournament is the seventh time that Lilleshall Hall have run this event and includes a field this year of 132 players, 66 representing Europe captained by club member Nobby Stiles and 66 representing America captained by club member Terry Beech.

The event opens with an Eve of Championship Dinner on Friday 21st September with rousing speeches from the two team captains as players find out which team they are to represent.

This is followed by 2 days of intense competition that mirrors the actual Ryder Cup format of foursomes, four ball better ball and singles. Respective teams will wear replica team shirts each day and the competition concludes with a splendid presentation of a replica trophy on Sunday afternoon and a photo shoot of both competing teams. Throughout the tournament players and their guests will be treated to after-dinner speakers, comedians, a magician and a band for the evening’s entertainment

This Ryder Cup event, which is supported by local and national companies, requires months of organisation and is so popular with the members that it is sold out within hours. The previous 6 events have achieved over £15,000 for charity. This year the Captains charities are……………..
